Our Story
Our Story: Built on Passion, Performance, and Precision
How It All Began
My journey with performance cars started with a simple trip to buy my very first vehicle: a Ford Ranger. As I pulled into the seller’s driveway, my eyes were immediately drawn to a sleek, striking red sports car sitting nearby. Even with the excitement of picking up my first truck, I couldn’t get that car out of my head. It was a Mitsubishi 3000GT, and right then and there, I made a promise to myself: that would be my next car.
Being young and working on a tight budget, I hunted until I found a pristine, low-mileage (68k) red 3000GT SL with a cream interior. It was my dream car—perfect in every way.
The Pursuit of Power
After a couple of years of driving and tinkering with the SL, I caught the performance bug and wanted more power. My focus shifted to finding a Twin Turbo model in the same iconic red finish. While browsing eBay, I spotted a 3000GT VR4 located just 20 minutes from my home. After the auction ended without a sale, I reached out to the owner directly, made an offer, and brought it home the next day. Saying goodbye to my first 3000GT was bittersweet, but it opened the door to a whole new level of automotive passion.
Purchasing that VR4 in 2000 was the start of an ongoing, decades-long relationship. Over the years, it became my ultimate learning canvas. Between late-night cruises, neighborhood car meets, and hands-on wrenching, the car spent its fair share of time on jack stands in my parents' garage as I worked to build something truly special.
When I eventually bought my first home, the VR4 sat tucked away for nearly eight years. But when I finally brought her back to life, I went all-in: adding a custom turbo kit, a carbon fiber driveshaft, a rebuilt transmission, and methanol injection. Pushing over 500 AWHP on 93 pump gas, the car became an absolute street beast with unstoppable all-wheel-drive traction.
Turning Passion into a Business
Having spent years on platforms like 3Si.org and active Facebook enthusiast communities, I realized how deeply I knew these platforms inside and out. I noticed a strong need within the community for a reliable, trustworthy local source for quality parts—without the long shipping delays or risks from unknown sellers.
In 2020, I took the leap and founded 3S Part-Outs. It was a creative outlet driven by genuine passion: helping fellow owners keep their legendary 3/S platforms on the road while building lasting relationships with enthusiasts I had been chatting with online for years.
Expanding the Stable
One fall day, I received a call about a 1994 Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo with only 68k miles. The owner wanted to pass it along to someone who would save it rather than part it out. Finished in rare Champagne Pearl Yellow, it was a color combination I hadn't originally considered—until I saw it in person paired with black wheels and accents. I was hooked.
I brought the Stealth home from Pennsylvania, swapped over a slave cylinder from my red VR4, and had it running perfectly the very next day. It instantly became my new daily driver. Today, outfitted with a upgraded fuel system, Arashi 20T turbos, and refined tuning, it’s a reliable, heads-turning street machine. I still stay in touch with the previous owner to show him how well his former ride is being cared for.
